I thought, on the day of the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump, I’d be discouraged, disgusted and depressed about the future, but I’m the opposite. Last night I had the honor of attending the Peace Ball of Resistance and Hope at the Smithsonian Museum of African-American History and Culture held by Bus Boys and Poets. Conversations with powerful people inspired me to continue to push forward and not give up on this country even when it seems like we’ve taken a few steps back. Last year while campaigning for the Sen. Bernie Sanders I wrote about a new found sense of responsibility to myself, my fellow citizens, minority groups, the future, the Earth and so many other movements and people that need to be protected. Today tops that moment. I hope you watch this video and share this fun amazing night with me and feel the same responsibility.
Video features: Angela Davis, Solonge, Danny Glover, Macklemore, Rev. Yearwood and many more.
