I am at a place in both life and my broadcasting career where I can humbly say, I’m great at what I do. Organization, on the other hand, I can be better at. I some how got dates confused and invited my mother to hang out with me during one of the busiest week’s of my month.
Consequently she tagged along as I hosted 94.7 Fresh Fm’s fifth annual Not So Silent Night concert at The Fillmore. About a thousand of our listeners came to see Andy Grammer, Rachel Platten, Andreas Moss, Whitney Woerz and more help kick off the holiday season.

God doesn’t make mistakes because I had an amazing night. My mom isn’t a fan of concerts. She prefers to catch me hosting on TV, radio, at games, events and more relaxed environments so this is the first concert she’s seen me host. I don’t know if it was our mother -daughter duet we shared while watching the Cardinal Shehan School choir singing Christmas and church songs, or mom casually mingling and having heart to hearts with celebrities, maybe even her meeting and bragging about me to all my coworkers, but the night was special.

We can get so caught up in the holiday hype working overtime to buy perfect gifts, stressing to decorate on time and anxiously trying to fit in all our goals before the year ends that we forget what’s important, FAMILY. I’m glad I had this experience to create memories with my mom that I’ll never forget.
