TV One has announced the suspension of “NewsOne Now,” the only live daily national newscast for African-Americans on television. I was surprised by the news, but it also allowed me to stop and reflect on the incredible opportunity I have had as a contributor to this groundbreaking and award-winning program. I make a living on local TV and national radio, but this program was my first national television platform. My family in New Jersey, my best friends in California and my always-traveling sister could consistently catch me on TV. Every week, I would look forward to the response from viewers, supporters and critics all over the country. Starting the day off with a smile is so important. I cannot thank Roland Martin and the entire TV One staff enough for allowing me to bring laughs to people on a national level. The jokes, the cultural lessons, and the WTH moments are some I will never forget. I already know great things are in the future for all involved. Until next time, follow me on social media @itsBrittWaters.
