Oh how time flies by. I remember years ago in college at the University of Maryland, College Park writing for the women’s basketball team. Fast forward to my first season as a host for the Washington Mystics the team at the time was filled with former Terps. It was special to me to see their careers blossom and keep those relationships.
Now years, trades, and a championship ring later I celebrate my fifth season as host of the Washington Mystics as the WNBA celebrates its 25th season. It’s a proud moment for me in my career, but it’s even more fulfilling having a front seat to how the league has grown and expanded.
As the popularity grows so does the reach and power of the strong women that make up the league and the people behind the scenes. Most importantly this occasion empowers the youth who sees a destination for female athletes that is celebrated and respected.
I’m honor to finally remove my mask, step back on the court, and entertain and hype up the most intimidating crown in the entire WNBA. You can follow along with my journey with my game day posts on my instagram @itsBrittWaters
I encourage anyone reading this to support. Purchase WNBA merch. Attend a game. Follow the league on socials and invest in women today.
